Frozen Lake by Mishkin-Rayman Frozen Lake by Mishkin-Rayman
Frozen Lake, Tornedalen, Norrland, Sweden
18 exp (6x3) Panoramic Long-exposure HDR

This was shot in Tornedalen, in the far north of sweden on december 24th, approximately in the middle of a two
week period during which the sun never rise above the horizon. So it's not a sunset or sunrise you're seeing in
this image. Rather, it's the sun reaching it's peak, just below the horizon.

Still. The dawn and dusk periods are strangely stretched compared to what I'm used to in southern sweden, where,
after the sun sets, it grows completely dark in half an hour. Despite the sun not even going above the horizon in
Tornedalen, we still had a good three and a half hours of daylight.

I was suppose to do this kind of shooting last year, but never made it that early into the mountains to catch a sunrise. THIS year for sure! Already got a spot in mind...

Heheh... I like to tell people this is no sunrise, nor is it a sunset. The sun didn't rise until a good two weeks after I shot this image. Polar night. ;)
